Lars Klein

Lars Klein, geboren in Dortmund, bekam den ersten Kontakt mit elektronischer Musik durch Vinyl von Jean-Michel Jarre. Mitte der 80er Jahren kam dann die erste Berührung mit House Music. Labels wie „DJ International“ und „Trax“ waren die Labels, die einen elektronischen, treibenden Sound hervorbrachten, der fernab von der schnörkeligen Vocal-Schiene lag. Mit einem Plattenspieler und einem Tape-Deck wurden die ersten Mix-Tapes angefertigt, die in seinem Freundeskreis für Begeisterung sorgten. Anfang der 90er Jahre kamen dann die ersten DJ-Gigs und es war klar, dass Lars in dieser Musik gefangen war. 1994 kaufte er sich das erste Studio-Equipment und erste Gehversuche mit Produktionen wurden gestartet. Es folgten im Dezember 1995 eine DJ-Tour durch das Baltikum und weitere Bookings in ganz Deutschland. 1999 begann er in einem Dortmunder Plattenladen zu arbeiten. Bereits vorher hatte er Kontakte zum jetzigen A&R von Fine Audio Recordings und Compressed Records geknüpft. So kam es, dass die erste Veröffentlichung auf Compressed Rec. Im September 1999 erschien. Weitere Releases und Remixes folgten u. a. auf FINE AUDIO, BLISS und GAMB. Gleichzeitig ist Lars derzeit als DJ in ganz Deutschland und im europäischen Ausland unterwegs.

Lars Klein, born Dortmund (in the huge industrial Ruhr area), became infected with electronic music when he first listened to the vinyls of Jean-Michel Jarre. In the Mid-80s, he got in touch with House music and it were labels such as "DJ International" and "Trax" who left their deepest traces with their impelling and propulsive electronic sounds without any vocal knick-kack whatsoever. Equipped with turntables and a tape deck, he began to produce a series of amateur mix tapes which his friends and mates received with much enthusiasm. In the early 90s, he had his first DJ bookings which marked that Lars was set for his musical career. In 1994 he had assembled his first studio equipment, and he immediately began to work hard at developing his production skills. In December 1995, a breakthrough in his Djing was achieved when Lars was booked for an extensive DJ Tour in the Baltic States and throughout Germany. In 1999, Lars started working for an important record store in Dortmund, which strengthened his already existing contact with the current A&R of Fine Audio Recordings and Compressed Records, Michael Burkat. This contact lead to his first official 12" vinyl on Compressed Rec. which was released in September 1999. Further releases on Fine Audio and other labels such as BLISS and GAMB were soon to follow. In 2002, Lars is a much requested DJ in Germany and a host of other European countries.
