Met een mengeling van jungle, drum&bass, ambient en breakcore zorgt Venetian Snares voor heerlijk intensiteit zoals alleen Venetian Snares dat kan: een spervuur van chaotische beats, gecombineerd met donkere synth stabs of vocoderstemmen, zo intens dat het naar het soms door merg en been gaat.
De Venetian Snares is het pseudoniem voor Aaron Funk uit Winnipeg Canada, de geboorteplaats van Dinosaur sr., Neil Young.
Met Squarepusher, Aphex Twin en Boards of Canada is Venetian Snares een van de meest toonaangevende acts binnen de experimentele electronica van dit moment. Funk noemt zijn stijl surrealisme. Afsluitend wat recensies, die zodanig superlatief zijn dat je bijna gaat denken dat ze verzonnen zijn:
