Master H

Master H is the debonair, designer DJ of the Parisian club scene and he is about to unleash his dynamite debut album 'THIRTEEN' on lucky Soma Records. This connoisseur of fine house has been setting alight the clubs of the French capital, New York and Glasgow for the past few years with his flamboyant dj skills and now his productions are about to explode on a global scale with a funk infested album of the freshest house tracks.

From the legacy of Daft Punk, Soma has always had a fantastic relationship with French artists and Master H is the new star from a country that takes it's house music very seriously. Slam first spotted Hassen Gouaned aka Master H while he was Djing at a party in Miami, at the Winter Music Conference, they were immediately stuck by his fantastic ability on the decks and his genuine star-like presence has the crowd were hypnotised by his effervescent charm. Stuart from Slam was so impressed that he booked Master H to DJ at his imminent wedding party and an appointment with Soma HQ.

A chance meeting which has led him to the brink of releasing his debut long player, lucky you might think? But fortune has so far played a important role in his musical career, from learning his craft playing soul, funk, hip hop and house every night of the week to students in the South of France, to the coolest bars and clubs in St Tropez, to the exclusive fashion parties of Paris and New York. His technical ability also impressed French godfather of house and techno Laurent Garnier - earning Hassen a fantastic summer residency in Corsica with his idol. This friendship also resulted in him playing funk records back to back with Laurent at Garniers private Millenium party. He has held residencies at The Queen Club and Caberet in Paris, Spy Bar and Chaos in New York, he has played for Paul Smith and Versace and rubs shoulders with supermodels and actors alike yet remains one the nicest guy's you could meet, a giant gentleman with a je ne sais quoi!

Back to the music, and when Hassen was first in Glasgow he hooked up with studio engineering wizard and musician Andy Gillespie (Andy did the strings on Slam's 'Virtuoso', and has also just completed a world tour as keyboard player for the legendary Simple Minds). Their first outing was the incredulously funky 'Mayflower EP' which contained 'Magic K' on the B-Side, this track was recently re-released due to massive demand and was in the boxes of all the cool DJ's this summer, from Lottie to Carl Cox everyone was playing this mysterious electrified anthem.

For the last two years Master H has been travelling to and from Paris and Glasgow working all-out on his new album, "Thirteen". The result is a potent concoction of jazz, funk, soul and electro breaks inspired house that will rock the party to its core. The album is due for release in March - contact Elite for tour bookings now.
