Star Warz remains thé leading Drum and Bass event in Belgium. This was proven once more on the previous 10th edition where we celebrated this round number with an extra room. Two rooms with big names and local talent, full of steaming music and dance action. As usual the public and artists described the atmosphere as more than extra-ordinary.
It’s a concept which has invited a lot of leading drum and bass artists in the past: Goldie, Doc Scott & MC Justyce, Ed Rush, Bad Company, Andy C & MC GQ, Storm, Lee … all names that are linked to the biggest and most respected labels around: Ram Records, Virus Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Metalheadz,… And this time: Prototype!
The driving forces behind Star Warz also know very well what lives in the scene and always invite artists that are very much to the taste of their audience. But they haven’t always programmed only big names. They realize that a scene evolves through its young talents and innovation. That’s why upcoming artists from around the globe have always joined the leading forces on Star Warz: Concord Dawn from Canada, DJ Flanagan from Holland, Influx Datum from UK, Dreazz & Harsh feat. Mc Dart, Pan & Pressure feat. Mc Jay and many others.
With Star Warz, we want to keep innovating - not only as a concept but also as a musical genre. Because what makes our parties such a success is the crowd obviously: an open-minded, up-for-it public that admires Drum and Bass, wants to be surprised and that creates that special atmosphere that everybody’s raving about !
Millennium Kru feat. Mc Jay (Daviz & One87/Red Zone)
Daviz & One87 were already active for a long time in the music scene before they teamed up. Living drum & bass was and is the most normal thing for them
In the beginning of 1999, after the first Millennium Breakz party, the Millennium Kru got formed. Shortly after it was formed, The Millennium Kru represented on almost every ( major / minor ) drum and bass event in Belgium like Pukkelpop, 10 Days Off, Dour, Millennium Breaks, Groove City, Beach Rock, City Parade, House Torhout, all "It's Like a Jungle" & Metalheadznights ( resident ), all Eskimo parties ( resident ), all Kozzmozz parties ( resident ), Star Warz (which 187 co-organizes ) and much more. They frequently play in Holland as well. And 187 also has his own concept Enter The Future which has been held several New Years evenings & in Culture Club.
The Millennium Kru is a first class drum and bass soundsystem that plays high quality drum & bass of all styles ( From Bukem to Dillinja ). Their one & only purpose is to rock the crowd, no more, no less.
Through booking the Red Zone crew from Holland on various event the Millennium Kru got to know MC Jay and they performed together for the first time on Cirque d’Anvers. The chemistry was there so the concept is continued …
The true voice of the Red Zone crew, Mc Jay is one of Holland's top mc's and a perfect addition to the Millennium Kru sound..
Jay (23) has been involved with the Red Zone crew since a few years.With his stylish sound and use of various effects he has quickly established himself amongst the Dutch Mc Elite, being picked up by strong UK mc's like CW, Rage and Verse. This resulted in a third place on the annual Dutch Drum & Bass Awards held at Melkweg in December 2002. At the moment he's got quite a few residencies and one-offs on his diary: Red Zone @ Effenaar (since 09/01), Red Zone @ Bakkerij (since 09/01), Drmnbssxxl @ Tagrijn. At Tagrijn he also takes cares of programming alongside dj Drekhed) with the likes of Cause 4 Concern, Digital, Black Sun Empire, Sonic & Silver, Dj Lee. He's to be found regularly at Jungle Galaxy @ Doornroosje, Nijmegen and the regular breaks night Flex @ 013 Tilburg. Other gigs include Infuse @ Tel Aviv alongside Nymfo, Shine Festival 2002 (hosting + mc'ing for Deejay Punk Roc, 4Hero and Lee Coombs) and several previous performances with the Kru (Star Warz X, New Year 2004, …. )

Next to big names, it’s a bit of a tradition to also program up and coming local talent on Star Warz and this time we’ve selected Goony & Fudge who have been organizing the Warriorz parties both in Ghent as well as in West-Flanders where they are also resident.
