Top UK dance label Silver Planet touches down in Amsterdam in association with Amsterdam’s Laughing Buddha Agency and 365Mag for the official kick-off to the night program of the Amsterdam Dance Event, Thursday October 27th 2005 at Studio 80 in Amsterdam.

On the night performances come from an array of national and international artists. Three world-renowned DJs spin under the Silver Planet banner, namely Aidan Lavelle, Chris Salt and Luke Dzierzek. Laughing Buddha agency is proud to announce four talents from their roster, John Taylor (UK) Sandrien and M-Cécile and live dance-act DIVE, and 365Mag’s Paul Sparkes makes up a hot line-up.

Aidan Lavelle is one of the scene’ most exciting and diverse producers at present. His most well-known and successful releases are Vector 13’s “Rise” & “Isis” released on Algorhythm and Ficta’s “Eli” which have received support from DJs such as Sasha, James Zabiela, Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa and Pete Tong. Both tracks were licensed to several compilations including Nick Warren’s “Global Underground Reykjavik”, James Zabiela’s “Sound In Motion”, James Holden’s “Balance 05”, Chris Salt’s Fear 3 and Future House Compilation. Aidan has recently completed his first compilation for Silver Planet in the Fear Series. Fear 4 is set to further secure his position in the music industry with an engaging journey of a combination of his own and licensed material.

Chris Salt crashed onto the scene in August 2003 as he landed a record deal Silver Planet that started his prolific production career. Chris’ first single ‘Dub Sonar’ hit the streets in the following year and received support from the likes of Sasha, Sander K, Nick Warren, Quivver, Slacker, Jonathan Lisle, Steve Gerrard and many more. His second release ‘Atmospheric Graffiti’ was championed by the likes of Nick Warren and Anthony Pappa. Nick Warren was so impressed with the track that he named it as his tune of the year. Anthony Pappa licensed it for his new Balance 006 compilation and also Chris’ tough breaks re-work of ‘Main Element – Delta Of Venus’. Chris’ has also mixed the double CD compilation Fear 3 in the Silver Planet compilation and his second mix comp entitled Future House is in the shops now

Luke Dzierzek’s very first track he handed to Silver Planet’s A+R department was signed immediately. The release “Echo / One Day” has already received rave reviews from the likes of James Zabiela, Sasha, Nic Fanciulli, Steve Lawler, Nick Warren, Phil K, Jon Lisle and more and looks set to be one of the biggest tracks on the label in 2005. It entered the Buzz Chart at No. 12 and stayed in that spot for two weeks running. Luke’s DJing is now taking off, with gigs for Silver Planet as well as various others including River Bar in Maidstone (home of Club Class) and Spitbank Fort in Portsmouth. Luke is currently working on collaboration with Luke Brancaccio, a Suicide Sports club remix of “I Don’t Know”, a Sasha playlist track, a remix for Silver Planet any many more projects in the pipeline.

The Dutch live dance act Dive is busier than ever in 2005 after 3 years playing small venues they have been signed to Talpa Music Publishing. They have written the theme song for BIG BROTHER 2005 in Holland, which will be released in the fall by CNR Reocordings (NL). Dive’s style and energy are often compared to Basement Jaxx, Faithless & Underworld. Dive is a two-man live act producing and playing their own broken beats mashed up with progressive house sounds with a groovy layer on top. Their act produces music without any records, no knobs, no screens just live instruments and a very powerful show. René Lenting, composer/producer, sings, plays keyboards, percussion and is a sample jockey. Raymond Dreesen plays acoustic drummer that gives the beats. They love to interact with the audience and after all “that’s what music is all about …communication” according to René. This year they toured in the US for WMC at Nikki Beach and did 2 shows at Glastonbury Festival in UK. Future plans are to release their 2nd album “Rough ‘n Tough” on DVD in fall/winter 05/06.
